Okay, I’m a student about to start a masters degree in biology (most likely gonna work on leukemia) this spring, and you’re sort of scaring me now…
Shold I change majors before its too late?
(Haha, just kidding, I am VERY passionate about science so…)
Taken at face value, this actually shows some humanity of the Professor coming trough (he himself probably doesn’t know he has it): he is giving a fair warning what the comic depicts as hell.
Some what true. Passion is not enough, there are darker forces at play as you move up the ladder of science careers. I completed my postdoc. All I can say, is talented young researchers are being discouraged to advance science at a global level.
Reblogged this on PhD-bility.

What else are you supposed to do? Just try to get a decent paying job with a BS in the sciences. You’ll be no better than if you work in fast food.
